Bushels have 'boost' power. if you are lucky enough to find a bushel of a crop before you harvest it, go into your stall inventory and 'use' 1. it will now give you +2 mastery points when you harvest instead of +1. It cuts your time in 1/2 to master crops.
If you don't have one in your inventory before harvesting, start to harvest, find a bushel on your farm and then STOP harvesting. Go to your stall and 'use' one of the bushels you just found. It will give you +2 mastery for the remainder of the harvest.
Each farmville boost is only good for 2 hours so you need a new boost every time you harvest.
If you have bushels in your stall then your stall is 'open for business' and farmville neighbors can come by and 'buy' some. It doesn't deplete your supply so don't worry. The next time you log in there will be an arrow above your stall. Open your market and you will be able to collect your 'payment' which is a choice of either xp, coins or fuel.
If you have lower level neighbors, you can find bushels of higher level crops for them and put them in your market. Then they come by your farm and get them from you which will allow them to unlock higher level crops and plant them.
